We are so pleased to introduce you to the adorable paper crafts created by Glenise Ward of Stone Bridge Lane. She will be one of our many vendors at our upcoming Barn Sale event on July 29th-30th. We especially love her use of bright and colorful images on all of her handmade journals, cards and gift tags. These all make perfect gifts for someone special in your life. Do yourself a favor and make sure you visit Glenise's booth and I guarantee you will walk away with a smile on your face! Here is Glenise's story:
I was born and raised right here in Iredell County, graduated from North Iredell and married my high school sweetheart. I've raised 3 wonderful kids and have a beautiful little granddaughter. After retiring a few years ago, I jumped fast and hard into my art! I tried several mediums - painting, sewing, even gardening. But nothing fueled my passion more intensely than paper. I've kept a journal since high school, using everything from plain notebooks to beautiful leather-bound books. I'm a big Pinterest and YouTube fan, so when I started seeing "junk" journals online and all the inventive ways folks were using junk mail, scrap papers, sheet music, maps, etc. to create unique works of art, I was inspired to start creating my own journals. I use the covers from discarded books, or sometimes the entire book itself, and add vintage papers, handmade pockets and tags, fabric scraps, lace.....whatever I have on hand and create a completely unique, one-of-a-kind journal. I'm always looking for books with interesting covers and stretching my imagination to see how I can turn that discard into something awesome! I've been creating journals for several years now and it's fun to see how my work has grown and changed. Each book seems to take on it's own personality, often becoming something completely different from what I intended it to be. Each new project just inspires me to create more! Follow Stone Bridge Lane on Facebook to see more of her beautiful work!
